Having an iPhone in your hand is still and most probably will always be cool and stylish. Customers owning both new and old models take pride in being one of the many people to show trust in Apple. Unfortunately, smartphones do get broken or dysfunctional. Be it a broken display or some software inbuilt issue, Apple iPhones are too agents of change. Any amount of care cannot stop us from dropping our phones and facing the “broken screen” emotion or even getting ourselves geared up for a credit card bill for its repair cost. Only Apple iPhone owners sense this emotion and can feel it. With the technological advances, people started showing interest in new and upcoming technologies.
Considering the many Apple products in the market, especially iPhones, it becomes very important to know the basics right before sending your iPhones for repair. iPhone repair is very ubiquitous in today’s world domain. Therefore, it becomes very much necessary to keep your iPhone ready before proceeding with a possible repair. If you have decided that your precious iPhone repair needs to happen, then you need to make sure of some things before handling your iPhone to anybody. Yes, even an Apple executive. Why you may ask? There can be many events that can happen with your iPhone in case you are ill-prepared. So better be ready beforehand so that you as an entity don’t suffer. All this makes sense in the world of data, as we all know how important data has in today’s world. An iPhone like any internet-connected device is susceptible to data theft or any possible misuse. There can be other instances like Data loss that can occur during iPhone repair. So, whether you are repairing your precious iPhone through Apple or through any third-party service provider, make sure that you ready your iPhone for repair. Let’s see what comes in it?
There are two modes of checking: when you bring it to any Apple store or Apple service provider. Make sure you backup your iPhone, Note your Apple ID and password, keep the battery at 30% or less to be on the safer side. Schedule an appointment, bring your sales receipt, your iPhone repair device, and any other useful accessory like charger, cable, etc. Also, carry a personal ID for your verification. If possible, turn off the Find My iPhone option from your device before bringing it in.
The other option is when you send your iPhone to Apple by shipping for repair or replacement. You need to backup your iPhone device, erase your device from the Apple ID device list, remove your SIM Card (if present already) from your iPhone [Note: if non-SIM card, the one should contact his/her wireless service provider for suspension of services]. Following the above options would make your device ready to be sent.
These steps do put responsibility for the iPhone owners, but regret is worse than precaution. Hope you find your devices intact.
